STORY

The Story Of Stenger Law

Michael Stenger founded Stenger Law, P.C., with a simple guiding principle: the law should be used to help people, not to hold them down.  Before starting his own firm, Michael spent years representing large insurance companies, nursing homes, and corporations.  These experiences gave him a firsthand view of how powerful institutions work to protect themselves at the expense of individuals and families, who are often facing a team of daunting, aggressive lawyers in an unfair and confusing system.  It also cemented his commitment to practice law differently: by standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who need a trusted and formidable advocate the most.

Michael’s practice is rooted in service and community. Whether guiding families through estate planning, protecting elders in long-term care, or helping employees and small businesses navigate legal disputes, he brings a steady hand, deep knowledge, and practical solutions to every matter. His approach is not just about resolving cases, but about making his clients feel heard, respected, and supported during some of life’s most challenging moments. Michael’s approach is defined by accessibility and advocacy. He believes that legal representation should feel like having a trusted guide by your side, not a gatekeeper. Every client is treated as more than a case file; they are families, neighbors, and community members whose voices deserve to be heard. His ethos is simple: provide practical, clear solutions while never losing sight of the humanity behind each legal problem.

Beyond his legal work, Michael is a published poet and visual artist. His debut poetry collection, Fault Lines, explores themes of family, identity, trauma, and resilience—echoing the same drive that fuels his legal practice: giving shape and voice to struggles that often go unseen. He also develops visual art projects inspired by music, history, and community life, finding creative expression to be both grounding and transformative. This blend of lawyer and artist reflects a holistic philosophy—balancing reason and empathy, precision and imagination.

A lifelong Norwalk resident, Michael is deeply invested in his community. He and his wife are raising their two children in the same city where he grew up, and he coaches his daughter’s softball team while advocating for local schools. To Michael, both law and art serve the same purpose: to connect, to illuminate, and to leave the world a little better than he found it.
